Cardiff Property Set to Rise

The report which was provided by real estate provider BNP Paribas says that by 2016 house prices within the area will have risen by six percent with the biggest increases to be found in the capital and the Monmouth, Usk and Abergavenny triangle.

This encouraging outlook is due to both the lack of current housing within Wales and the lack of any potential developments set for the future, as the Council’s Local Development Plan struggles to find adequate land.
Planning and policy adviser for Wales for the Home Builders’ Federation, Richard Price said, “Obviously the market for flats has reduced quite significantly since the start of the recession and we’ve been saying for quite some time that Cardiff needs more family homes.”
A statement which is further backed up thanks to the building of a new nuclear power station in Wales which will create around 6,000-7,000 jobs. Not to mention the huge influence the BBC’s move to Salford Quays will have on nearby Wales. Both of which are facts the report has not taken into consideration meaning that house prices could even rise beyond the estimated figures.
